Find a cafe near you

SpotACafe is a free, community-curated cafe finder. It puts every nearby cafe on a real map — independent coffee shops, roasters, neighbourhood bakeries and chains — with crowd-sourced amenity tags, live opening hours and first-hand reviews, so you can find a spot that fits how you want to spend the next couple of hours. Updated June 2026.

Whether you need fast wifi and a power outlet for laptop work, somewhere quiet to read, an outdoor table, a pet-friendly patio or just a good espresso on the way to the train, SpotACafe helps you find it. Every cafe page shows what regulars actually know: which amenities are real, how long people tend to stay, recent reviews, and whether the cafe is open right now.

How SpotACafe works

Most cafes are seeded from OpenStreetMap, with opening hours backfilled from Google Places. Anyone can add a cafe that's missing — that submission stays pending until three independent regulars confirm it on the ground, so the map stays trustworthy without an editor or gatekeeper. Amenities aren't one person's claim either: every tag — wifi, power outlets, quiet, plenty of seating, outdoor seating, pet-friendly, vegan options, specialty coffee — is a community vote, and a cafe only shows a tag when the net score is positive.

Signed-in regulars add the rest: reviews, star ratings, photos and check-ins. Check-ins quietly measure how long people really stay, which is how SpotACafe can tell a settle-in-and-work cafe from a quick-espresso stop. None of it costs anything — SpotACafe is free, has no ads, and runs on open infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find cafes near me?

Open SpotACafe and allow location access — the map centres on you and shows every verified cafe in view, with crowd-sourced amenity tags, opening hours and reviews. You can also search any city or neighbourhood to explore there instead.

How do I find a quiet cafe with wifi to work in?

Use the amenity filters to narrow the map to cafes the community has tagged Wifi, Quiet and Power outlets. Because each tag is a net community vote, a cafe only appears under a filter when regulars have actually backed it — and cafes where people stay a long time are flagged as work-friendly even when their tags are sparse.

Is SpotACafe free?

Yes. SpotACafe is free for everyone, with no ads and no premium tier. Browsing the map, filtering by amenity and reading reviews all work without an account; signing in unlocks check-ins, reviews, photos, amenity votes and the Coffee Passport.

Where do the cafes and opening hours come from?

Cafes are seeded from OpenStreetMap and opening hours are backfilled from Google Places, then kept fresh by the community. Cafes added by users are verified by three independent confirmations before they appear for everyone. See the data sources page for the full provenance of every field.
